Translating Jewels into Presents - Behind Olea’s Holiday Campaign

“A piece of jewelry is often a piece of art. But it only becomes valuable when emotions are added to it.” — Unknown

Wearing a piece found by Abby Snow, founder of Olea Fine Jewelry, might as well be wearing a piece of treasure. The rings, necklaces, bracelets, and other rare adornments she curates are unlike anything you’ll find in a department store—or around someone else’s neck. Each selection sits just a shade above the classic, carrying that quiet confidence that says, I’m bold. I’m adventurous. I’m myself.

Crafting a campaign for a brand that curates other brands is a creative challenge in itself. You want to preserve the individuality and mystique of the designers she represents, while also allowing Olea to speak with its own point of view. As a still-budding brand, Abby has done a remarkable job of walking before running—building a clear, intentional identity rooted in timeless style and quiet sophistication.

Therefore, crafting images for Olea means balancing contrast and cohesion. My role is to photograph her world in a way that honors each piece’s craftsmanship while translating the brand’s essence through tone, light, and texture. The result is imagery that feels direct yet elevated—rooted in craftswomanship, not spectacle.
