I met Brittany Allyn, @thirtywaves, in Italy for 8 days.
One of our stops for 4 days was Villa La Commenda Concordia owned by Nadia and Oleg. Highly recommend for a retreat into the Italian countryside. There’s plenty to do if you know how to look. Photo books, pool, walk through the grounds or on the country roads, Little Italian towns all around, great food to taste and best of all GUESTS to connect with. Maybe it was just the week I was there but so many fantastic guests were present. We played murder mystery and chatted life and shared and connected across borders. Does’t hurt that the place is stunning. Thanks Nadia and Oleg! Can’t wait to return :)

Before we arrived to La Commenda I let Brittany do the directions…. But hey we got lost in TUSCANY. Smallest violin in the world please. We laughed, we grabbed a bite from a local cafe and hit the road, in the right direction.
Next Stop Vocabolo Moscatelli, a design lovers wet fucking dream.
This super cool couple bought a monastery two years ago and made it into a hip destination of world class talent and sensory dream-lovers paradise. I spent hours walking the grounds here just sniffing everything.

Highly recommend throwing off the typical “vacation” checklist and just follow your heart. No need to overbook. No need to do what everyone else is doing. Sometimes it’s nice, in our overbooked lives, to slow down, do nothing and smell the flowers, or talk to peacocks or take a bath in the morning light. Till next time.
